How We Make It
Every piece of furniture passes through six carefully controlled production stages before it leaves our factory gates.
Our production process has been refined over 30 years of manufacturing for demanding European buyers. We maintain full traceability from raw material to finished goods, and every stage is documented with batch records available to buyers on request.
We source rattan poles exclusively from certified suppliers in Sulawesi, Kalimantan, and Sumatra. Each delivery is inspected for species authenticity, diameter consistency, moisture content (target: 12โ15%), and absence of fungal damage.
Rejected batches are returned to suppliers. Only Grade-A material enters the factory. All sourcing documentation is maintained for EUDR and FSC compliance reporting.
Rattan poles are steam-heated to 80ยฐC in our bending workshop, allowing them to be shaped without cracking. Our frame carpenters use traditional bending jigs to form consistent curves and angles. All joints are lashed with rattan ties and reinforced with wood dowels where structural loads require.
Frames are load-tested to EN 1728 standard โ the European furniture durability benchmark โ before proceeding to the weaving stage.
This is the heart of our craft. Each weaving artisan has an average of 11 years of experience. We offer six standard weave patterns โ diamond, honeycomb, herringbone, tight coil, open lace, and plain rattan peel โ as well as custom patterns from buyer specifications.
Materials used in weaving include natural rattan peel, seagrass, water hyacinth, abaca, and raffia. No staples, no glue guns โ every strand is secured by hand.
All furniture goes through three stages of sanding โ 80, 120, and 240 grit โ before the finishing coat is applied. We offer natural oil (linseed or tung oil), clear lacquer, matte lacquer, and custom paint finishes to any RAL color code.
All lacquers and finishes used are certified REACH-compliant and safe for children's products where required. We can provide material data sheets on request.
Our QC department operates independently from production. Every finished piece is inspected against a 23-point checklist covering: dimensions (ยฑ2mm tolerance), joint integrity, finish uniformity, weave tightness, hardware function, and labeling.
Items failing inspection are re-routed to our repair workshop. No defective item is packed for export. Our current pass rate is 98.8% on first inspection.
Approved items are wrapped in PE foam, packed in double-wall carton, and loaded onto ISPM 15-certified wooden pallets. We provide both FCL (20' and 40' HC containers) and LCL consolidation via Semarang and Surabaya ports.
Each container is shipped with a full set of export documents: Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin (Form D / Form A), Phytosanitary Certificate, and Fumigation Certificate.
